Kind words for
hard days

The hard week often comes with a harsh inner voice. It says you are too much, that everyone is tired of you, that you will always feel like this. It is loud, and it is not the truth.
Name what is happening
"This is the week talking." Saying it puts a little space between you and the thought. Spotting an unhelpful thought is the first step to seeing it differently.
Talk to yourself like a friend
Ask what you would say to a friend who felt this way. Then say it to yourself, word for word.
Lower the bar
On hard days, getting through is the goal. A shower, a meal and an early night count as a good day.
Write to your future self
On a good day, write a short note for the hard ones: that it passes, what helped last time, who to call. Keep it where you will see it.
PMDD is not a flaw in your character or a failure to cope. It is a reaction in the body, and it deserves understanding, not shame.
Keep the record your doctor needs. Tideline is a period and mood tracker for iPhone: write one sentence a day, and after two cycles it puts the week before your period next to the week after it starts. Free to track, no account.
