Your partner and
the hard week
By Ben Jonas Goedeke · 2 min read · checked against its sources
People who love you often take the hard week personally. From the outside it can look like you are angry with them, when what you are is overwhelmed.
Telling them in advance helps more than explaining afterwards. Pick a calm day. Say what happens, roughly when, and that it passes.
Be specific about what helps
"Be supportive" is hard to act on. "Handle dinner that week" is not. "Do not ask me what is wrong, just sit with me" is even better.
Sharing from Tideline
You can invite a partner from the You tab. They see where you are in your cycle and the things you said help. They never see what you write each day.
Keep the record your doctor needs. Tideline is a period and mood tracker for iPhone: write one sentence a day, and after two cycles it puts the week before your period next to the week after it starts. Free to track, no account.
